Earning an ASIS International board certification is a visible acknowledgment that you possess a mastery of core security principles and skills essential to the best practice of security management. It shows you are committed to excellence, professional growth, and a code of conduct.

 

ASIS offers four ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) ISO 17024 accredited certifications to meet your professional needs throughout your security career. 

 

• The Associate Protection Professional (APP®) designation is intended for those with at least one (1) year of compensated security experience. The exam will measure the professional’s knowledge of security fundamentals, business operations, risk management, and response management. 

  • NOTE:  Those already certified as a CPP are ineligible to apply and sit for the APP Exam.  

• The Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) credential provides demonstrable proof of knowledge and management skills in seven key domains of security. Those who earn the CPP are ASIS board-certified in security management. 

• The Professional Certified Investigator (PCI®) credential provides demonstrable proof of an individual's knowledge and experience in professional responsibility, investigative techniques and procedures, and case presentation. Those who earn the PCI are ASIS board-certified in investigations. 

• The Physical Security Professional (PSP®) credential provides demonstrable knowledge and experience in physical security assessment; application, design, and integration of physical security systems; and implementation of physical security measures. Those who earn the PSP are ASIS board certified in physical security.
